My Writing Spots

a podcast

This blog post is going to be a little bit different.

This time, I’ll be talking about a couple of my favourite spots to go when writing.

Obviously, when inspiration strikes, location and environment often doesn’t matter. You just whip out your notebook or laptop and suddenly you’re on fire and not a single thing can interrupt your writing.

But what about when you really want to write, but you just simply can’t get the job done?

Sitting at your desk, holed up in your room, does not help. My advice is to get out of the house, go somewhere new, or to an old favourite spot with an environment that works for you.

Turn writing into an event. Make a trip out of it. Us writers aren’t always so fortunate with numerous bursts of inspiration to get the job done – and if you are, just know I’m extremely envious.

My tip is to dedicate yourself to your hobby. Allocate a couple hours a week to writing. Find a place that you can write in, get familiar with it. So, when you go there, you’re mind and body are in the habit of knowing that it’s time to write.

Here’s a short podcast on the few writing spots that I try to go to regularly to help with my writing.
